Giacomo Roati is a CNR-INO Director of Research since 2018. He is carrying out his research activity at LENS (European Laboratory for Non-Linear Spectroscopy) located in Sesto Fiorentino, Italy. He is leading an experimental group that studies quantum transport phenomena in strongly correlated Fermi gases. In 2012 he has been awarded with an ERC Consolidator Grant QuFerm2D (Quantum simulation of two-dimensional fermionic systems). His scientific interests include the study of ultracold Fermi gases trapped into arbitrary optical potentials and the investigation of fermionic superfluidity in strongly-correlated many-body systems.
