Keynote Speaker
Professor at the École Polytechnique
Member of the French Academy of Sciences
Researcher at the École Normale Supérieure

Jean Dalibard is a physicist specialist in the interaction between matter and radiation, and more particularly in the manipulation of atoms by laser. He performed his PhD at Ecole normale superieure in Paris, under the supervision of Claude Cohen-Tannoudji. In the 80's-90's, he contributed to the elucidation of the various mechanisms at play in the cooling of atoms by light. More recently, his work focused on quantum matter such as Bose-Einstein condensates and superfluid systems, especially in reduced dimensions. Jean Dalibard holds the chair Atoms and Radiation at Collège de France and is leading a research team at the Kastler Brossel laboratory in Paris. He is a member of both the French Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Sciences.
