Ron Folman is the Director of the Atom Chip Group at Ben Gurion University of Negev where he is Professor. Prof Folman received his Ph.D from the Weizmann Institute of Science and was visiting scientist at CERN, Innsbruck and Heidelberg. Prof Folman expertise range from high energy physics to foundations of quantum mechanics and decoherence to the experimental study of the atom chips for quantum optics. He is founder and first director of the BGU center for quantum science and technology as well of the BGU nano-fabrication facility. In 2011, Prof. Folman was awarded of the Willis E. Lamb Award for Laser Science and Quantum Optics.
